My stepmother passed away and her home was sold at a foreclosure auction. I had investors calling me nonstop for a week leading up to the auction. They were offering me small amounts of money to sign paperwork giving them the house and me some pocket change. I had never been in that situation before but knew enough to know they were not being honest, and their offers were weighted extremely to their benefit. My situation had a few difficult and uncertain sides to it, and I wasn’t sure anything could be done. I researched how to handle it legally myself and realized I would not be able to successfully handle it, so at the very last minute I found attorney Haynes and gave them a call. I was greeted by a very nice lady who was very polite and helpful. She set up a phone call for later that day with Attorney Haynes, who couldn’t guarantee me that I would be awarded the surplus funds from the sale, but he did guarantee me that he would do his best.
